Chaos ! – what is that ! – how would you deal with that ?

 

Greek kháos (χάος) means 'emptiness, vast void, chasm, abyss'.  Chaos was a primordial entity present at the beginning of the universe in Greek mythology. She was likely understood as the absence of existence or order.Chaos or Khaos is the Greek goddess, the very first entity in existence and is followed by primordial gods such as Aither, Hemera, Nyx, and Erebus. 

Life can often be confusing and most difficult to understand and fathom ! -  Chaos theory, in mechanics and mathematics, the study of apparently random or unpredictable behaviour in systems governed by deterministic laws. A more accurate term, deterministic chaos, suggests a paradox because it connects two notions that are familiar and commonly regarded as incompatible. The irregular and unpredictable time evolution of many nonlinear and complex linear systems has been named chaos. The definition of deterministic chaos implies that our prediction in the form of a model, for instance, is very sensitive to the initial conditions.  The World often presents confusing and paradoxical situations – and the challenge is facing and overcoming them. 

Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft has safely returned to Earth after completing an uncrewed journey back from the International Space Station (ISS). The capsule touched down at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico, concluding a critical test mission for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Though initially launched with NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, the spacecraft returned without them due to safety concerns. The  mission was launched three months ago, on June 5, carrying Williams and Wilmore to the ISS for its first crewed flight. However, shortly after docking with the ISS, Boeing and NASA identified helium leaks and thruster issues that raised serious concerns about the spacecraft’s ability to safely return the astronauts to Earth. In light of these problems, NASA decided in late August to bring the Starliner back uncrewed, prioritising astronaut safety. 

After weeks of troubleshooting and detailed planning, the Starliner capsule undocked from the ISS and completed its descent autonomously. NASA and Boeing closely monitored the spacecraft’s systems as it re-entered Earth’s atmosphere, performing a controlled landing at the White Sands Space Harbor. The decision to fly Starliner back without its crew was made to minimise risk and gather additional data on the spacecraft’s performance. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson reiterated that the mission’s focus has always been on safety: “Space flight is risky even at its safest, and this test flight proved to be no exception. Returning the Starliner uncrewed allowed us to evaluate its systems without unnecessary risk.” 

Now more on Gods & Chaos !!   In a cosmic drama unfolding before our eyes, the asteroid 99942 Apophis, dubbed the "God of Chaos" for its menacing potential, is making headlines once more. As Earth prepares for an unprecedented celestial rendezvous in 2029, Nasa's latest revelations promise to keep our eyes on the skies. Discovered in 2004 by astronomers at Kitt Peak National Observatory, Apophis quickly rose to notoriety. With a diameter of approximately 1,100 feet (335 meters), it was initially deemed one of the most dangerous near-Earth objects. The asteroid was predicted to come perilously close to Earth in 2029, sparking fears of a potential collision. This forecast, however, has been revised as astronomers tracked Apophis with increasing precision. 

The breakthrough came in March 2021. Using the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex and the Green Bank Telescope, scientists gathered high-resolution radar data that allowed them to accurately map Apophis's orbit. On April 13, 2029, Apophis will pass within 20,000 miles (32,000 kilometers) of Earth's surface—closer than the geostationary satellites that orbit the planet. This close approach will offer a rare, unfiltered view of the asteroid for those in the Eastern Hemisphere. "Although Apophis made a recent close approach with Earth, it was still nearly 10.6 million miles away," explained a Scientist. The recent surge in attention is largely due to reports of Nasa broadcasting a live feed of Apophis, offering a rare glimpse at an asteroid of this magnitude as it hurls through space. 

Science is very interesting and technology is ever improving yet there would be no escape from chaos or predictable panacea to problems.  The way of live of a Srivaishnava is simple – surrender unto Him – meditate and reach unto His Golden Lotus feet – Sriman Narayana is eternal and He takes care of us in all possible ways.

                                எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமந்நாரணன் எத்தகையவன் ? - எம்பெருமான் ஒருவனே  பெருமையிற் சிறந்த உயர்ந்த தேவதைகளுக்கு எல்லாம் தலைவன். அவனுடைய நிர்ஹேதுக க்ருபையினாலேயே அவன் ப்ராப்யன்.  சமய நூல்கள் சாஸ்திரங்கள் நன்கு ஆராய்ந்து உணர்ந்தவர்கள் கண்ட மெய்ப்பொருள்,  பரதெய்வமாகவுள்ளவன் ஸ்ரீமந்நாராயணனொருவனே என வியாஸர் முதலிய மஹர்ஷிகள் சொல்லுவர்.  அந்த ஸ்ரீமந்நாராயணனுடைய பெருமையை சாதாரணர்கள் ஒருவரும் அறியமாட்டார்கள்.   வேதவேதாங்கங்களில் ஆராயப்படும் பொருளின் நிர்ணயமும் இவ்வளவேயாம் !  எத்தகைய ஸாதநாநுஷ்டாந தவங்களை  பண்ணினவர்கட்கும்  முடிவில் பலனையளிப்பது ஆழியான் பால் அருள் என எம்பெருமானிடத்து உண்டாகும் கிருபையேயாம்.  பரத்வம், ஸௌலப்யம், ஸௌசீல்யம், வாத்ஸல்யம், ஸ்வாமித்வம் முதலிய கல்யாண குணங்களினால் அப்பெருமானுக்குள்ள பெருமையை அளவிட்டு அறிய வல்லார் ஆருமில்லை. ஸர்வஜ்ஞனான அந்த எம்பெருமான் தானும் அறியகில்லான் என்கிறபடியே-     என அறுதியிட்டு உரைக்கின்றார்
