இன்று 24.7.2023 மாலை திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்யதேசத்திலே கருமேகங்கள் சூழ்ந்து அதிகமான காற்றோடு மழை கொட்டும் என தோன்றியது.  இன்று ஆடி மாதத்தில் ஹஸ்த நக்ஷத்திரம் - ஸ்ரீவரதராஜர் சிறிய மாட வீதி புறப்பாடு கண்டருளினார்.    

 

Many a times human ego makes them feel big !  .. .. but what is the reality ? .. .. you do not need Science or logic to confirm that ant is small and Elephant is very big !  .. .. that is visualized by naked eye.  Huge tuskers are really big, much much bigger and bulkier than humans and so we fear them ! .. .. yet – do we understand that any standard definition can go awry ! – it is not only the blindmen who failed to see !!

Elephants are threatened by humans, much as the way it was threatened by a mugger crocodile, when Sriman Narayana came flying to save Gajendra. 

Miles away in Kenya, during colonial times, elephant hunting was promoted as a sport for noblemen and was exploited by the colonial governors.  It is no game, it was pure gruesome killing by the hapless by people armed with weapons.  Among the white hunters, the bull elephant was the most exhilarating target. Small-bore rifles aimed at the brain cruelly ended lives of mammoth giants.   Then there were other groups out to kill  – young, old, male or female, it did not matter, as the primary purpose was ivory.  In 1973, Kenya banned hunting but could not completely stop poaching.    Poaching continues, as there is still international demand for elephant tusks.  

The sordid story of a resilient elephant called ‘monsoon’ is really heart-rending.  Monsoon survived the poaching war of 2009 – 2014 despite being shot five times by poachers and losing two calves to poachers’ bullets.  The elephant grew up and lived until 60 when she was   euthanized after she collapsed several times in northern Kenya.  Though the cause is reportedly is old age, cruel humans kept it running away from bullets.   At times the drought was so severe that wild elephants had to scramble for food and water.    

Though gifted with eye-sight, we cannot comprehend the place we live and often live with false perceptions ensconced as sound scientific ideas – the Universe is very very vast and our Emperuman Sriman Narayana is  Unique, vast than the Universe, infinitely superior and His acclaims are much more than what humans can decipher and describe.   When we think of  Him with devotion, the  most merciful Sriman Narayana immediately appears in the heart of such devotees and remains there. So our thoughts, actions, words and action should steadfastly remain on Him – guides the greatest Tamil Saint Sri Peyalwar.

தமிழ் தலைவன் என்ற புகழ் பெற்ற ஸ்ரீபேயாழ்வார் நமக்கு உரைக்கும் பாசுரம். :  -   ஏ, உலகத்தார்களே !  .. ..   ‘எது நல்லது, எது தீயது‘ என சஞ்சலத்துடன் விவாதித்துக்கொண்டே  வாழ்க்கையை வீணாக்காதீர் !!  எம்பெருமானிடத்தில் ஈடுபடுவது நன்று !  ஸம்ஸாரத்தில் ஆசை கொண்டிருப்பது தீது' என அறிந்து எம்பெருமானின் தாள் பணியுங்கொள் என உரைக்கின்றார் பேயாழ்வார்.  இதோ இங்கே மூன்றாம் திருவந்தாதியில் இருந்து ஒரு பாசுரம் : 

அதுநன்று  இதுதீதென்று   அய்யப்படாதே,

மதுநின்ற தண்டுழாய் மார்வன், - பொதுநின்ற

பொன்னங்கழலே தொழுமின், முழுவினைகள்

முன்னங் கழலும் முடிந்து.  

அது நல்லதோ? இது கெட்டதோ? - எது சரியானது, என சந்தேகத்துடன் விவாதங்கள் செய்து, மனத் தெளிவு இல்லமால், கவலைப்படுவதை நிறுத்திவிட்டு,  தேன்நிறைந்த தண்டுழாய் மாலையைத் திருமார்பிலணிந்த  எம்பிரான் ஸ்ரீமந்நாரணனின் ஸர்வஜந ஸாதாரணமான விரும்பத்தக்க அழகிய திருவடிகளையே  வணங்குவீராக !  அப்படி வணங்குபவர்க்கு,  எம்பெருமானின், திருப்பாத கமலங்களை நினைத்த க்ஷணமே, முழு வினைகளும், செய்த பல பாவங்களும், உருமாய்ந்து  ஒடி சென்று நம்மை விட்டு அகலும்.  

இன்று ஹஸ்தம் .. .. .. திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் ஸ்ரீவரதராஜ பெருமாள்  சிறிய மாட வீதி புறப்பாடு கண்டருளினார்.
