What a great day it was ! 1st Feb 2020
(18th day of Thai masam) was Ratha Sapthami. Ratha means chariot & Sapthami is a thithi in a lunar month falling
on the 7th day of both sukla and Krishna
paksha. Ratha Sapthami also Surya
Jayanthi is celebrated on 7th day after
Thai Amavasai- Shukla paksha (waxing
phase of moon) dedicated to God Surya. I have posted in detail Surya prabhai
purappadu in the morning and Chandra Prabhai purappadu in the evening.
Every festival is an occasion for enjoying the bakthi anubhavam of
Sriman Narayana and reaching to the lotus feet of Him. The simplest is to understand His glory is
‘Thiruvikrama avathara anubhavam’ – By a single swift movement of one feet, He
covered the entire Universe; His raised foot went into the sky shadowing the
Worlds below and filled the space. The
light of knowledge and bliss pervaded everywhere in the Universe. He, the Lord of Universe, Lord Krishna whose
eyes are comparable to that lovely lotus is only Superior capable of shepherding
us to the right path of Dharma.
At Thiruvallikkeni – there are two purappadus. Surya prabhai in the morning and Chandra
prabhai in the evening. At Holy
Thirumala – it much more grand – 7 purappadus in various vahanams. This year too, lakhs of devotees from
different parts of the country thronged to Hills to have darshan on the day of Ratha Saptami festival observed at the temple
of Lord Venkateswara.
The festival started with the procession of Sri Malayappar in Surya Prabha vahanam at 5.00
a.m. Devotees congregated at the north-west corner of the temple since Friday
night to witness the sight of the first rays of sun falling on the feet of Lord
Malayappa astride the Surya Prabha vahanam.
Then followed : Chinna Sesha Vahanam; Garuda, Hanumatha vahanams,
Chakrasanam of Sri Chakrathazhwar; Kalpa Vriksha vahanam and Chandra
Prabhai.
Similarly there is 7 vahana purappadu at Thiruneermalai
divyadesam and some other places. At
Thirumylai Adhi Kesava Perumal thirukovil also, there are 7 vahana
purappadus. Had the fortune of partaking
in the 5th – Sri Adhi Kesavar Yaanai vahana purappadu whence it was
Thiruvirutha goshti.
நம்மாழ்வாரின் திருவிருத்தம்
ஒரு அற்புத தமிழ் காவியம். எல்லாம் வல்ல சர்வேஸ்வரனின்
சிறப்பை தாம் அடைய சிலாகித்து பைந்தமிழில் நாயிகா பாவத்தில் உருகிய பாசுரங்கள். எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன் எல்லா வல்லவனன். ஸர்வசக்தியுக்தனான நாயகனை ஆழ்வார் இப்பாட்டில் த்ரிவிக்ரமாவதார வரலாற்றைப்
ப்ரஸ்தாபிதுள்ளார். எம்பெருமானுடைய ஸர்வ சக்தித்வத்தைக் கூறியவாறு. ‘நாயகன் என்னோடு
ஸம்ச்லேஷிக்க வரக்காணவில்லையே; என்ன பிரதிபந்தகமுள்ளதோ அறியேனே என்கிறார்.
*அழறலர் தாமரைக்கண்ணன்* - என்னே ஒரு அற்புத சொல்லாடல். தாமரைக்குப் பங்கஜம் என்று வடநூலில் பெயர்.
சேற்றில் முளைப்பது என்று பொருள்; இங்கும் அங்ஙனமே ‘அழறலா தாமரை’ எனப்பட்டது.
அழறு= சேறு. தாமரைப்பூ நீர் நிலையை விட்டு நீங்கினால் வாடிப்போய் விடுமாதலால் நீர்நிலையிலேயே
அலர்ந்து குன்றாதிருக்கிற தாமரைபோன்ற திருக்கண்களையுடையவன்
நம் ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணன் என ஆனந்திக்கிறார்.
கழல்தலம் ஒன்றே நிலமுழு
தாயிற்று, ஒருகழல்போய்
நிழல்தர எல்லா விசும்பும்
நிறைந்தது, நீண்ட அண்டத்து
உழறலர் ஞானச் சுடர்விளக்காய் உயர்ந்தோரையில்லா
அழறலர் தாமரைக் கண்ணன் என்னோவிங்களக்கின்றதே?

எம்பெருமான் திருவிக்கரம
அவதாரத்திலே ஒரே திருவடியில் பூவுலகு முழுவதையும் கொண்டான். மற்றொரு திருவடிக்கு பூமியிலே இடமில்லாமையாலே,
மேலே போய் பரந்தது. ஞானமாகிய ஒளிக்கு இடமான விளக்குப் போன்றவனாய், தன்னிலும் மேற்பட்டவரையுடையவனல்லாதவனும், இவ்வுயிர்களுக்கெல்லாம்
நிழலை தரும்படியான சர்வேஸ்வரனும் , அளிவிடவொண்ணாத பரமபதத்தில் எழுந்தருளியிருப்பனும், சேற்றில் மலர்ந்த செவ்விமாறாத செந்தாமரை மலர்போன்ற
திருக்கண்களையுடையவனுமான நம்பெருமாள் இந்த
லீலாவிபூதியில் அளக்க வேண்டுவதுண்டோ?
ரத சப்தமி போன்ற உத்சவங்கள்
நமக்கு அளவிலா ஆனந்தத்தை தரவல்லன .. .. எம்பெருமான் பற்பல வாஹனங்களிலே எழுந்தருளி நமக்கு
சேவை சாதித்து அருள் பாலிக்கிறார்.
