Kairavini Kulakkarai Anjaneyar Samprokshanam 2016 ~ Thiruvallikkeni

The Greatest of Ithihasa purana ‘Sri Ramayanam’  is the undiluted history of the Greatest Person who descended on this Universe, on the banks of river Sarayu, in a prosperous country called ‘Koshala’.  In the immortal Ramayana, there are learning of life ….. ~ and there is also a great character – a warrior, mightily powerful, whose body was as hard as a diamond, whose speed equalled those of fastest flying eagles, who possessed great wisdom, who could organize a group of roaming ones, who can jump hundreds of miles, yet who remained at the feet of his Master, totally committed thinking of their welfare alone – unassuming, yet capable of telling the right things at the right moment – that is Pavana Puthra Hanuman – Aanjaneya, who is called ‘siriya thiruvadi’ – bearer of Lord Rama – who carried Rama on his shoulders during the war in which the demon was killed.

At Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam on the banks of the holy Thirukulam ‘Kairavini’ which once had lilies giving the place its name ‘Thiruvallikkeni’ on the eastern side, there is a sannathi for Aanjaneyar, adjacent to which Sri Vanamamalai Mutt is located.  This sannathi is part of our Thirukovil ~ daily thiruvamuthu  for Hanumar is carried from the Thirukovil.  On every purappadu of Perumal, there would be ‘Sri Sadagopam’ mariyathai for Aanjaneyar from Perumal with Perumal providing darshan to Anjaneyar standing facing him.  Devotees worship with vadamalai offering ~ and in the evening group of people chant Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam that has been continuing for a century or so !

On that grand day ~ 22nd Aug 2016 – of Maha Samprokshanam at Thiruvallikkeni – alongside the shrines of Shri Azhagiya Singar [Yoga Narasimhar]; Sri Varadha Rajar; Thirumazhisai Alwar, there was samprokshanam for Sri Anjaneyar at East Tank Sq. St. (Kulakkarai Anjaneyar sannathi) also. The consecration was performed as per the Vaikhanasa Agama. While thousands of devotees assembled to worship the consecration, have darshan of the new looking Vimanas and Gopurams, there was not much of crowd at Hanumar sannathi at the time of samprokshanam around 10.15 am.

Some photos of Sri Anjaneyar purappadu from the temple and of samprokshanam are placed here. Added significance for this Anjaneyar generally has no purappadu other than the purappadu to main temple for Balalayam and thence returning on the day of Samprokshanam.

Adiyen Srinivasa dhasan.
