“EEkkadu Thaangal Thiruvooral Uthsavam
Sri
Peyalwar Mangalasasanam at Thirumayilai.”
At
Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam ~ a significant Uthsavam is ‘Eekkadu Thangal
Thiruvural Uthsavam’ – whence Sri Parthasarathi in a grand procession reaches -
Eekkadu Thangal near Guindy in a palanquin.
The
route is circuitous as many devotees feel overwhelmed in having His darshan
nearer them. Sri Parthasarathi Swami
started from His temple in the early hours of today at around 0100 am and after
‘mandakapadis’ at various places visits Eekkadu Thangal.
At
around 03.00 am, it was Mangalasasanam at Thiru Mayilai … near Chithirai kulam
at Mylapore, Sri Peyalwar of waited
for Sri Parthasarathi and took Him along to Mylai Sri Adhi
Kesava Perumal
Temple . There was
veedhi purappadu whence the prabandham of Sri Peyalwaar –“Moondram
Thiruvanthathi” was recited. After mandakapadi at the temple, Alwar accompanied Perumal in veethipurappadu
which culminated with ‘Moondram Thiruvanthathi sarrumurai’ near Chithirai
kulam, which shone with colourful lights in view of the ‘float festival’
(Theppothsavam)
Sri
Parthasarathi after Mylapore, proceeded via Alwarpet, T Nagar, Kodambakkam,
Mahalingapuram, Saidapet and finally reached Eekkadu Thangal where
Thirumanjanam was performed. Here are some photos taken at Thirumayilai …..
